The Ocean Pollution Problem

Plastic Waste's Connection to Climate Change and Ocean pH Decreases

The waste that has been going into the ocean for almost half a century is not organic in nature therefore unnatural outcomes have come as a result of this intrusion.

This has lead to several chemicals with acidic reactions to exists in a sensitive zone where everything between phytoplankton to sharks have been in existing for a longer period of time than trees have grown on earth.

Interference in what is known as the Diffusion process has been disrupted by dioxins and furans being introduced to Carbon Dioxide consumers disrupting the process with added acidification.

Although the ocean maintains a vast amount of surface area estimated to be 70% of the earths surface, the microorganisms who perform cellular respiration in a process that consumes Carbon Dioxide and releases Oxygen back into the atmosphere only habitate in upwelling zones.

Currently materials that have plastic materials such as cars, houses, clothes, appliances, utensils, water bottles, etc have all been found in tour natural waterways leaking hazardous chemicals into the marine ecosystem.

Steps 2 Erradicating Plastic Waste

1. Removing plastic waste from local parks, beaches, and waterways.

2. Promote recycling programs and educate the community on proper disposal methods for plastic items.

3. Advocate for the reduction of single-use plastics by encouraging businesses to adopt sustainable alternatives.

4. Supporting organizations focused on ocean cleanup initiatives to help remove plastics from marine environments.

5. Have a sustainable marine based initiative that will feasibly remove the plastic waste from the Ocean's Ecosystem.
